Saturday, March 20, 2010 1:00-4:00 at New Albany Country Club
Planning for the 11th Annual Fashion Show is in full speed mode. This year's event has some exciting new changes that are sure to make it a memorable day. The biggest change is the addition of a marketplace to our Fashion Show. Vendors will have tables set up where you can shop for all of your fashion needs. We have decided to have the marketplace instead of selling the clothing that are modeled in the show as a way to maximize the money raised for our charity organization. We have chosen the My Best Self program from Directions for Youth and Families, as the 2010 fashion show beneficiary.
My Best Self is a comprehensive teen pregnancy prevention program serving high-risk girls and boys, ages 11-18. This program explores the costs and demands of being a teen parent. The hands-on experience of caring for the Baby Think It Over simulators has been shown to affect teen attitudes about delaying conception and has helped participants realize that being a teen parent would keep them from meeting future goals. The money raised at our 2010 Fashion Show will go directly towards buying new infant simulators for the program.
Anyone interested in donating items for the silent auction or setting up a table in our new marketplace can contact us atfashionshow@nawn.org.
